The Airports of Prague 1947- 2000 - by Lubomír Dudácek this is the second hardback book in this three volume series dealing with the life and times of the Airports of Prague and MBI’s first book of the new millennium. As with the previous volume, the book takes the form of a pictorial record documenting the planning, construction and development of Ruzyne Airport. The book also chronicles the developments that took place within Czechoslovak Civil Aviation against the backdrop of the dramatic events in the social and political life of the country in the aftermath of WW2. This development has come full circle in the post communist era with a return to a market based economy and the peaceful break-up of the old federal Czech & Slovak state and the emergence of the new Czech Republic. As befitting a book about an airport, the aircraft, their operators and the people and personalities involved are not neglected from the Aero Ae-45 of 1947 to the Boeing 737-500 !! Consisting of 242 pages with over 480 photographs, drawings and diagrams. The text is fully bi-lingual in Czech & English, dimensions as for volume 1, height 286 mm width 217 mm.
