The model depicts an LT-40 of the Slovak Mobile Division in the Ukraine during the initial invasion of the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941. As the recent MBI book recounts, LT-40’s used in the first part of the campaign were armed only with MG’s & served as command tanks. The subject of this particular model was knocked out by a Russian anti-tank gun in July 1941. The model is in 1/72 scale, the hull & turret are scratchbuilt, the roadwheels are from the 1/76 scale Pzkpfw 38(t) kit by Fujimi and thus are ideal to represent the smaller LT-40 wheels in 1/72 scale. The crewman is a Milicast Italian figure. Model by Andy Lang. Photo by Robert Lockie.
